This bodacious corkscrew was designed by Alessandro Mendini in 1994 and has since become the most iconic corkscrew ever. Really, we’re not joking. Anna took the world by storm and has never been surpassed for sheer beauty or quirkness. We absolutely love her and think she’d make a great pairing with Alessandro.

Anna’s primary purpose is to uncork your bottles of wine. She doesn’t mind which variety of wine, so whether it’s a dry Chardonnay or fruity Merlot, she’ll have the cork off in a jiffy. The mechanism is quite a wonder to behold. You start by having her arms at her sides, then as you slowly screw the sharp twisty bit into the cork, her arms raise up. Once her arms are above her shoulders sharply bring them down in one smooth stroke and bang… the cork is out! PS To get the cork off the twisty bit, rotate her head anti-clockwise (gently or she'll cry:-)) and the cork will slowly unscrew.

Like all Alessi products, Anna is extremely well made, with a stella finish. Her svelte body is made from very durable black thermoplastic resin and her head and arms are chrome plated zamak. This colourway is particularly chic.
